This Creamy Dreamy Cashew Milk Will Transform Your Iced Coffee & Smoothies

So, a while back, Blueprint--the company that really spearheaded the juice cleanse madness with those trendy bottles prominently listing their ingredients down the front--sent me a sample cleanse. Now, this was an all-liquid cleanse that packed around 700 calories for an entire day...and needless to say, I failed miserably (and realized that I REALLY love chewing). I did, however, become obsessed with their subtly sweet and deliciously creamy cashew milk featuring water, cashews, vanilla, cinnamon, and agave. The problem: When I spotted a bottle at my local Wegman's a few weeks ago, my initial excitement quickly faded when I saw the price: ELEVEN freakin' dollars! That's insanity, folks. So I decided to make my own....

The Perfect (Healthy-ish) Spring Donut

This spring, my goal is to eat more donuts. Not exactly the most common thing for a chick to say a mere two months from bathing suit season, but hear me out. I’m the new owner of a donut pan, and I’m freakin obsessed. Not just because I get to make these sweet treats whenever I damn well please, but because I get to tweak the ingredients so they’re no longer the love-handle-inducing sugar bombs they’ve always been. Plus, they’re baked, not fried!

Pesto Zoodles with Sundried Tomatoes & Chicken Sausage

So, on Friday nights I'm pretty much dead to the world. No longer do I deliberate on where to go out, how to do my hair, or if I should pre-game...now I simply ask myself three questions: 1) Is there something to watch on Netflix?, 2) Where's the wine?, and 3) Do I have anything to eat besides half an onion and a shriveled lemon? And yesterday, the answer to this last question was no. So I begrudgingly hauled my ass to the grocery store for dinner supplies and ended up with a random hodgepodge of ingredients that miraculously resulted in the above. I've officially busted out of my roasted sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts rut!

It's just not sexy like that $200 juice cleanse that can help you lose, like, 10 pounds (and $200-dollars) in a week. But I'll let you in on a little secret: It is everything. Naturally Sweet Paleo Protein Brownies with Coconut-Almond "Frosting"

As a lot of you know, I'm in the midst of coaching my first group through The 21-Day Sugar Detox program. And like any good nutrition coach, I'm doing it right along with my superstar group. Only fair, right? The one problem: Holy crap I miss dessert. Typically my desserts are limited to the paleo variety anyway, so they're a bit less evil than the refined-carb and sugar-laden junk I used to eat, but they still contain natural sweeteners like honey and maple syrup. This program, however, excludes all sweeteners and even a lot of fruit for three weeks. How the hell do you survive then?!? You adapt!

That’s why I whipped up these 5 warm, comforting, and super filling blends packed with seasonal produce and winter spices. Consider them your creamy, cleaned up alternatives to sugary hot cocoa. Pro tip: If you’re taking these to go, drink them from an insulated travel mug or cup to keep warm. All recipes make one meal-worthy blend or two snack-sized smoothies.

'Tis the season…right?!
